Man quickly arrested after woman approached at Elvaston Castle | Reference 26000073467

Officers are appealing for information following a report of concerning behaviour at Elvaston Castle Country Park.

The incident occurred at around midday on Friday 6 February 2026, when a woman reported that she was approached by a man wearing a high visibility jacket who was acting in a suspicious and intimidating manner.

The behaviour caused her to feel frightened and change her route to get away safely and was not physically hurt.

Police attended the area shortly afterwards and a man matching the description was located and arrested. The man in his 30s and from the Burton area has been released on police bail while our enquiries continue.

We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed any similar or concerning behaviour, or who may have information that could assist the investigation.
